Earth under your feet, sun on your face, a trail going somewhere worth going. These things are simply good for you, and somewhere along the way we stopped treating them that way. Putting you back in contact with all of it is not a side effect of the design. It is the design.
Curiosity over convention
The best discoveries still start with a kid's question: what if? LUNA began with a man who never lost that. Open, unfiltered, unafraid of looking a little odd, he played his way into something real. We would rather follow the interesting path than the accepted one.

Your body was never broken
The human body is extraordinary as it comes: built to run, to climb, to cover ground, to feel. We start from the conviction that it does not need more, it needs less in the way. The shoe industry built a problem so it could sell you the solution. We never bought it.
You are your own best experiment
There is no universal answer to how you move. No prescription, no single right path. So we do not tell you what works. We put a tool in your hands and trust you to find out, because what you discover when you put them on is entirely yours.
Our design philosophy
The least that works, the very best
Every LUNA is built on one question: what is the least amount that works the very best for this? The use case changes. An ultra, a hike, a walk to the water. The question does not. It is less a design spec than a discipline, and it is why nothing on a LUNA is there for show.
Honest about where things are made
Our line is made in more than one place. Some pairs are handmade to order in Wenatchee, Washington, some are assembled in the US, and some are made in Vietnam. We would rather tell you exactly which is which than blur it. You can filter the whole catalogue by Made in USA and see for yourself.
Built to keep going
Every pair is covered by our MoonRock Guarantee for a year against any manufacturing defect. Sandals that come back to us are not written off. They are refurbished in Wenatchee and sold on as LUNAcycled. A sandal you can keep using is worth more than one you replace.
Homage to our roots
2006, Copper Canyons
The canyons, still
LUNA started in 2006, when the Tarahumara runner Manuel Luna made Barefoot Ted his first pair of huaraches. The brand carries his name. That is lineage, not tribute.
Ted goes back to the Copper Canyons every year, and we send material down so local craftsmen, Manuel among them, can keep making traditional huaraches and sell them if they want to. None of that is positioning. It is simply what has been happening for nearly twenty years.
