At LUNA Sandals, we design with intention. Every decision we make stems from a deep respect for the human body, the natural world, and the adventures that connect them. Our philosophy is rooted in one guiding principle: “the least amount that works the best.”But simplicity is not easy. From Garage to Trail:
A Hands-On Approach

The story of LUNA Sandals begins with Barefoot Ted, who was inspired by the Tarahumara Indians and their minimalist running sandals, as recounted in Born to Run. Ted started experimenting in his garage, crafting sandals that would not only protect the foot but also enhance the natural connection between the wearer and the ground. From those humble beginnings, LUNA Sandals grew into a brand that continues to embody that spirit of experimentation. Today, our factory in Wenatchee, Washington, USA, is the heart of our operation. It’s where our team designs, tests, and refines every sandal we make. This isn’t just manufacturing—it’s a process driven by passion, creativity, and real-world experience.
