    First pair

So far I have run 25 total miles in the sandals and they are amazing! Great feel and fit. The sandals also reinforce my mid foot strike.

    After a lengthy trial...

As one of the early guinea pigs of this model, after (4) years of steady use; from France to the UK, all over Japan and here in the US from Hawaii to Florida - these Origen's have been with me. I think it's about time to write a brief review. So these were originally intended to be my 'go-to' road Luna's, as I was exclusively using the old (1st) incarnation of the Oso for my trail running. But as my Oso's sole began to lose it's 'bite' (the old sole was not what's on the newer version today) I transitioned to the Origen's as my 'go-to's' for both trail and road. And...it didn't take any significant adjustment to get used to. (Weights of both are similar...some would say on the heavy side; I haven't noticed on the trail. The Mono might get my nod on the road though.) Anyway...getting to my point...I'm not sure Ted made a sound business decision to re-introduce the world to Manuel Luna's original design, and the use of a real tire tread; because I believe...if you had only one chance in your life to own a sandal [for life], the Origen would be it. You really don't ever have to buy another sandal. I have killed, or left rendered unusable (for trail running) 5 of the 10 pairs of Luna's I currently own. Mono's, Leadville's...I just wore 'em out to where the sole's became too slick for rough terrain or just beaten flat with miles, becoming insufficient for protecting my feet from sharp trail stones. But THESE sons-of-b's, after (4) years...I swear to God look damn near new. And I don't care how sharp the rocks are under foot...I've never had an 'ouch' when wearing them. I'm gonna buy another pair of Luna's; probably the 'winged' Oso Flacco's (if only to try the new lacing system), but the point is...I don't NEED to replace these Origen's. Get these if you want a bombproof sandal.

    Like Them A Lot but..

I like them a lot but.. probably not as much as my Oso Flacos? I was going to return my Origens but only to replace the leather laces (that I opted for) for the "performance laces" that I find to be easier to adjust and more comfortable than the leather laces. I got the return label to get them replaced but the leather laces grew on me and I started wearing them more often without the leather support strap or whatever it is. However I find myself wearing my Origens for "dressier" occasions. I will say that the Performance Laces are more comfortable and easy to adjust tho. So far I haven't ran in them but I do a lot of walking. They don't feel as agile as my Oso Flacos but so far I attribute that to me not wearing them as often and as long as my Oso Flacos. Other than that I love my Luna's in general. People have noticed my excitement about them and have said that my whole energy has changed since I started wearing them. Can't substantiate the reason exactly but there's something very special about these sandals.

Thanks Again for a great pair of sandals!

Awesome! This is my fourth pair over the past six years. Luna sandals actually make me feel happy. It is weird, but when I put them on my feet my whole attitude changes, I feel happy, and get into this total forward-thinking and very positive state of mind. Thanks! Jim in Arizona

    Great Sandals

These are the best Luna's I've had. I bought a pair of Mono and Oso, they were good but I feel these are stronger when I run under trail conditions. The laces are more comfortable especially on the heel. Greetings from Guadalajara México!
