WHAT MAKES LUNA
WE MADE MORE THAN 200,000 FEET HAPPY. IT IS YOUR TURN!
The Leadville Trail is one of the oldest trail worthy LUNAs and is being reintroduced because of ongoing popular demand.
A light and lean 11mm ultralight minimalist trail sandal that provides just the right amount of protection to take the edge off the trail for a true-to-life minimalist trail experience.
It famously uses a Vibram® soling compound that is super lightweight and grippy. It won't last as long as the stiffer Oso sole, but what it gives up in longevity it makes up in performance. The super flexible Leadville Trail sole will form to your feet like a glove over a short period of time. It quickly becomes a favorite for its nimbleness and ground feel.

I am loving the Leadville Trails! Used them on a rocky Sierra trail and off trail in mixed granite, tallus, and scree - super traction, great footwork, and comfortable. The inside gets slippery when wet, but it wasn't a real problem and they dried quickly. Had used another brand's minimal flat sandal, liked them, but they were too floppy resulting in a lot of toe catching. I am now a "Lunatic"!
The plastic side tabs are a great solution to the strap breaking from being in contact with the ground. I had two older versions in which this happened. However the trade off of longer life does come with compromise, being that the plastic piece rubs on the inner part of the foot. It looks like my foot is starting to callous so that should take care of that. After taking them on a long hike with a lot of elevation I got big blisters on the bottom of my feet as the constant rubbing of the sandal I wasn’t use to. This since has toughened up and I am sticking to half day exertions. Anyway I’ve worn lunas for years and despite my whining I do love them! I tried Earth Runners once but found Lunas superior! Awesome tred!
This company is absolutely amazing! I am very new to the minimal and barefoot shoe community. I have a Morton’s Neuroma and have been trying to heal/fix/manage it with shoe choice and exercise. I had originally purchased the Winged Mono and wore it a few times but the sole seemed to aggravate the neuroma. I called the company and got Ted on the phone. He spent a tremendous amount of time going through each shoe in the company until we found the one that we thought would work. They exchanged the Mono for the Leadville and it seems to be just right. I am still working on getting the straps in the perfect and most comfortable fit. I am amazed by the level of support and customer commitment of this company. I highly recommend them and their shoes. Thank you!
