My third pair of Venados (the first was the 7mm original); I loved the first pair absolutely, liked the second with some reservations, and so far am very frustrated with the third. I don't know what's different about them, but I can't seem to find a well-fitting adjustment, and they make my feet tired maddeningly quickly. Hopefully these issues will work themselves out as I put more miles on them -- but they never presented in the first place with the other two pair.

So far, so good!

I've only used these a handful of times, being winter here in central Ohio. However, the one thing I did not expect was an almost perfect fit out of the box! Unreal. Mind you, I'm layering a pair of Injinji socks, or two, with these, but I was amazed there was very little fiddling with the laces. This is my second pair of running sandals, the first was of similar design from another company, though I had a **** of a time fitting their lacing. I was anticipating a tough start, so have been pleasantly surprised. I look forward to breaking these in, which is when they'll hit their stride. Being icy and in the upper teens, these will have to sit idle for a bit, but will get plenty of use in the coming months.

These will replace the pair I wore to place 18th in my division.

Great for Hawaii

*plenty of room for wide, flat feet *lots of air circulation reducing stink and sweat *quick-drying; no fear of frequent showers or puddles *longer-lasting than shoes; minimal sole forces light, quick steps *helps flat feet get stronger by engaging arches *reduces running injuries because the entire leg acts as a spring vs. only knees and ankles Prefer over Mono 2.0. I also miss the elastic ankle strap, although this squishy thing works too. 8+ years Luna Sandals wearer

Venado 1.0 was better

I'm not sure why they moved away from the elastic heel strap to the chunky pad thing that's there now. I can't see how that's any kind of improvement. Loved my first pair of Venados, this one not so much.
