I finally got my Luna’s after a long wait (not your fault - international shipment and all). I followed the directions to adjust them, but I’m not convinced that I’ve dialled them in right. Looked for advice on that on the site, but found none. So, I am hesitant to try them out on a run.
Hi there! It can take a little bit of adjusting and playing to figure out the best adjustment for your feet. You're welcome to send over photos of your feet in the sandals so we can offer specific adjustment tips! firstname.lastname@example.org -Amanda
Believe it or not I wore out my previous pair of Luna's. For some reason I like the "organic" notion of upcycled tire tread in a sandal and the feel. I bought one of the first pairs of Origens made onsite in Seattle for me while I was visiting Ted. He's an rare authentic breed and instills that philosophy in each sandal. There's really nothing else to say other than you should have some Lunas in your arsenal of trail fashion. When you have to wear something on your feet wear Luna.
I have been barefoot running for years and I found myself being limited by degraded pavement, all weather roads, and hot surface temperatures between 11 AM and 5 PM. I have been carrying cheap flip-flops with me to get me through the rough spots or if I got caught out running when the temperatures got too hot. Flip-flops will get you through in a pinch but they are delicate and get destroyed really easily so you have to baby them. One day on the job I was working on a trail near my station and I saw a minimalist runner who was wearing a pair of Lunas. I asked him about his shoes and in the few seconds that he stuck around to speak he told me how durable the tire sole was for him. So I found Luna‘s website and went for it. Because of Covid and such it took a while to actually get a pair of Origens but I waited and I got them. The company had great customer service helping me figure out fit (they have a whole printed page sizing thing on a piece of paper method and a real person on the phone that will help you figure this out). So I got the shoes and they came in a teeny little box because they’re so thin! The straps take a little bit of getting used to but that’s fine and they seem really durable. The deck of the sandals is made of a squishy rubber that is firm but comfortable and the bottoms of the shoes are made from Michelin snow tires. They are bombproof! I carry them with me when I run and if I get anywhere that’s too tough for my tootsies I slap those Lunas on and I have no worries. With these things you can run on anything, anytime, anywhere.
