United StatesRan a 50k wearing the Retro Mono. First time covering this distance on them. Sandals were great !Given the technical nature of the trail Mono Gordo, which I have , might have been a better choice for me.
United StatesHad 4 pair and find these lightweight, wear great in water, city, or rugged terrain. I try to keep 4 new pair in stock at home.
United StatesSolid construction but despite my best efforts to fasten the straps as shown on the website, my feet keep sliding sideways, due to the cross-strap positioning and tension. Looking into Xero Running Sandals now.

United StatesI love my Retro Mono LUNA Sandals!. I am 6’1”, weigh 195. I have been running in these sandals 5 days per week, run between 3 to 5 miles per day, for the past 3 months. I run on hot, flat blacktop pavement. I only developed one or two blisters the first time I ran I them. But, my feet quickly recovered and I have have zero problems with blisters now. The farthest I have run in these sandals is 9 miles, and once again, blister free. These sandals are extremely comfortable. They feel extremely light on my feet. Whenever I am finished with a run, my feet feel great. It feels very liberating to run in these sandals. Surprisingly, I never have had an issue with the thong portion between my toes. I never notice that the thong is even there when I run. These sandals do not smell at all, even after all the running and sweating in them in the hot Louisiana sun. They still have the new sandal smell like the day I took them out of the box—no exaggeration. The reason for this may be the fact that I hose them off with water after each run, and let them dry out. I also wear these sandals for everyday use, like going to the supermarket or just around the house. They look great, and they still do not appear to have much wear on them. I chose this model of sandals after I called Luna and spoke to Barefoot Ted himself. He was very pleasant to talk to and I could tell he took pride and enjoyed explaining to me why he recommended the Retro Monos to me. I was impressed that BarefootTed led the conversation and was clearly in no rush to get off the phone. We spoke for over 20 minutes and I enjoyed every bit of the conversation—he is truly a genuine and kind individual. I plan on purchasing another pair of Lunas in the spring, just not sure which model I would like to try out. I highly recommend LUNA Sandals, and in particular, the Retro Monos.
