What tip would you give to someone just getting into running? It is key in any athletics to learn your body. Running is an individualized process and learning what your body will accept is key. Don't develop your training regimen based on what others are doing. Patience is everything.
Fell in love with Running: I didn't always love running but did so out of necessity to maintain peak fitness in my profession of firefighting. Later in my career, I accepted promotions where I found myself spending less time the mountains and more behind the desk. Fortunately running the mountains and trails helped to balance this disparity towards the end of my career. I used to get paid to climb mountains, now I just do it for fun.
Favorite places: The wilderness, the mountains and the ocean are among my favorite places to spend time. Future plans to explore the aforementioned remain quite high on my bucket list of things to do with my wife Rebecca.
Loves to eat: Salmon, quinoa, broccoli, garlic bread with green salad and some sort of imperial stout.
Go-to LUNA Sandal Model: On mud or loose footing I love the Oso.2.0.
Roads I like to use the Mono Gordo 2.0 and my all time favorite model for road or trail is the Leadville Gordo.
Superstitions: I wouldn't consider myself superstitious but I pretty much always eat pesto and salad the night before a race, Oatmeal and a half cup of coffee the morning of and I never wear race swag until after I finish.
